This Month feature happens to be on Patrick Donald 1988 Mustang GT. Patrick says .........This car and I have a lot of history.
Let me first say I grew up as GM guy but later was intrigued by the performance that the GT made . I actually tried to purchase an '86 model GT back in the year of 1990,but my mother figured out the power of this beast and told me NO WAY! In the year 2000 I was flipping through the want ads where I found my 1988 GT, and what a great find ,the car was on its 2nd ownership and the only upgrades was the exhaust mufflers .
I drove the car and left it "as is" for a few years until I decided to start modification on it in 2005. I changed the headers out to BBK short's , bassani X-pipe and flow -masters American thunder series mufflers with 2 1/2 inch pipes from front to rear. Some of the other changes were internal engine work including a larger cam and rockers ,cold air intake ,a Holley Upper and lower intake manifold , underdrive pulleys ,3 row radiator to keep all these mods cool and many other upgrades to come, while the GT still rides on the 16" chrome Ponys.
This car has always been fun to drive and is currently undergoing body and paint work that should be finished by the end August ,look forward to seeing all of you car enthusiast at many of the great car events . Stayed tuned because there is more to come from Patrick and his '88 GT
